Our mission
To advance and secure the profession of dental hygiene, to represent and preserve the interests of dental hygienists, and to improve access to quality oral care across Malta.
We act as a consultative body to which public and private bodies may refer for guidance in connection with dental hygiene, and we work to increase awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention.

To enhance and advocate the profession of dental hygiene by improving professionalism, autonomy, and access to quality oral health care — and by communicating clearly the relationship between oral health and overall health.
Our goals
- Promote the advancement of the dental hygiene profession in Malta.
- Safeguard the Code of Practice and Code of Ethics of the profession.
- Maintain and update standards of dental hygiene with current developments.
- Liaise, in an advisory capacity, with health authorities, professional bodies and voluntary organisations on issues related to dental hygiene.
- Raise public awareness regarding dental hygiene and preventive oral health.
- Maintain international and local communications with similar organisations.
- Provide opportunities for continuous professional development — educating, updating and inspiring members.
- Issue and maintain a newsletter published annually.
- Maintain a website related to the profession.
- Voice opinions on dental-hygiene related issues affecting public health and policy.
